A US think tank warns of a possible armed conflict between India and Pakistan in 2026 due to heightened terrorist activity. The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) report highlights risks following previous skirmishes, including the May 2025 Operation Sindoor by the Indian Army targeting terrorist camps in Pakistan.

The report also notes ongoing tensions along the India-Pakistan border, as well as potential escalation between Afghanistan and Pakistan due to cross-border militant attacks.
